How to Properly Log Off DEC (Bevpak)

It is important to fully log out of DEC when you are finished. Simply closing the window or disconnecting can leave your session open and may cause system issues for other users.

Step 1: Exit Back to the DEC Main Menu

While inside any DEC menu:

1.  Press PF1 on your keyboard to return to the DEC Main Menu.
   • If needed, press PF1 repeatedly until you are fully back at the main menu.
   • The PF1 Key may be mapped to your NumLock key or F1 key

Step 2: Close the DEC Session

1. Once you are on the DEC Main Menu: Press the Down Arrow on your keyboard.

   

2.  Make sure "Close the Session" is selected.

   

3.  Click the OK button to confirm.

This properly logs you out of your DEC (Bevpak) session.

Important Reminders

• Do not close the DEC window using the X.
• Do not leave DEC sitting in menus or maintenance screens.
• Always use Close the Session to exit properly.

Leaving DEC sessions open can:
• Lock records
• Prevent End-of-Day processing
• Block other users from accessing the system
